It’s been really cold for this past few weeks here in the East Coast. PA was one of the States that was affected by the Polar Vortex. The temperature was really low, and I believed it’s the coldest that I’ve experienced since I arrived here in US 6 years ago. We stayed indoor most of the time and only went out when we really need to. We had some snow storms like every week, but it was like any other snowy day here in the East Coast. Our State is pretty much prepared for this, that’s why we pay local tax for it. 😀 Anyhow, I assume you already know what is Polar Vortex, and as soon as the first one passed, my son and I took the opportunity to go outside to breath some fresh air and taste the snow for a few minutes even though it was only 9F. Somehow our body have adjusted with this temp and we were able to stay outside within 30mins. My little boy grabbed some snow right away and began playing like it’s sands. This time he was able to make his first snow angel for this year Winter season even though it was below 10F. Check him below, having so much fun!
Winter was not so winter here in our end. We didn’t get much snow, and most of the time the temperature was in 30’s F. The kids were bored most of the time, because they missed the fun things to do during a Snow Day. Whenever it snowed a bit-which was 3x only last season, the kids would get so excited. They’d wish for it drop some more, but sad to say it didn’t stick long enough for them to enjoy.
Anyhow, we had a couple of good snowy day. And was able to make a snowman. Below was our last snowman for 2013. The little one had so much fun making him.

The snowy day that my kids and I had been waiting for, finally came last Dec. 29 of 2012. It was not mixed with rain, and it was not blustery. The snow dropped so beautifully and so steady that my kids and I took the opportunity to play outside and enjoy the white fluffy stuff. It accumulated up to 5 inches which is enough for us to make some snow balls, roll it around the yard to make a bolder , stacked them together, and tada! We got a snowman! Isn’t he a cute fella?
My kids loved their Snowman. They worked so hard to make it. They called him Snowy, which reminds me of my little puppy at home in Phil, named snowy as well. 🙂
Below are my kids making their first snowman this year.Blog Photo Challenge #14/365
I was wondering what happened to Mother Nature last weekend. She gave us lots of snow, that were not quite the time yet to have it. Last Saturday, it poured so heavily everywhere here in our neighborhood, that cause the trees to break, and cut our power for several ours. Not just our power, but our internet cable as well. I thought I will gonna die without internet for a very very long time! 2 days to be exact. ha! It feels like 48years. lol. Good thing some of my tasked, that was supposed to expire last Saturday were still in my Dashboard. 🙂
Anyhow, we had a little bit of fun in the snow, the kids were quite excited to see the white stuff that drops from the sky. The little guy below doesnt even want to go back inside the house even though it was freaking cold! lol
Once outside, they build their snowman right away. We were supposed to carved our pumpkins that day, but we decided to build a snowman instead. Photos below shows the kids rolling the snow. The snow was kind of wet so it was perfect to build a snowman.
But they were not able to finished it cause I dragged them inside after a few minutes. I was starting to froze up, how much more the kids?! lol. I think they were just trying to ignore the coldness just to build their snowman. lol. silly babies.
